Preventative Hygiene
If you would like to enjoy healthy teeth for your lifetime, then preventative hygiene care is a must. We start children out at about age three and continue 6 month care visits until adolescence. During the teenage and braces years your hygienist may recommend coming in three times a year to control gingivitis. As an adult you should see your hygienist a minimum of twice a year and have a yearly examination with the dentist. Many of our adult patients are seen three to four times a year to better care for their gums. Preventative Hygiene visits at our office will include the following:
- Update health history
- Oral cancer screening
- Periodontal screening
- Scaling teeth
- Polishing teeth
- Fluoride application
- Dental education
- Oral irrigation as needed
Check up x-rays and an examination with the dentist will be scheduled once a year. Oral home care is an important part of dental health. We believe in educating our patients and offering them the latest dental techniques and tools needed to obtain optimal dental health. We look forward to caring for your dental needs and customizing a preventative care program that will work for you.
